Our team is committed to our patients' overall health ~ we believes that the mouth is the window to wellness and works in partnership with the patient to create and maintain a healthy smile. Dr. Slack combines his 20+ years of experience in dentistry with his constant commitment to ongoing education and attention to improvements in technology and enhancements in dental products in order to provide the ultimate in quality, state-of-the-art dental care. As a recent graduate, Dr. Goff attends continuing education courses to further her knowlede of dental products and prcedures as well. DENTAL PHOBICS ~ Our team is very sensitive to patients who are apprehensive about dental procedures. We offer audio headphones and nitrous oxide to ensure complete relaxation and comfort during every visit. In addition, our team employs a computer-aided method of delivering anesthesia to avoid painful shots and reduce the amount of time the patient stays numb following the appointment. Most importantly, the team gets to know the individual needs of each of their patients ~ often the first meeting is not in the dental chair. In some cases, we can offer "sleep dentistry" for our highly phobic patients ~ the patient, in this case, is often unaware of the dental procedure as it is being performed. LASER CAVITY DETECTION ~ Our team uses laser cavity detection to identify cavities at their earliest ~ traditional methods of locating cavities can result in cavities growing quite large before they are detected, resulting in the need for drilling and jeopardizing the integrity of the tooth. If a cavity is caught in its earliest stages, it can be treated using air abrasion, a completely painless procedure that eliminates the need for drills! SOFT TISSUE LASER ~ Our team offers the newest technology advancement in treating periodontal disease without the need for costly and painful gum surgery. AIR ABRASION TO AVOID DRILLING ~ When decay is detected in its earliest stages, we can treat small cavities without the need for drills. We use a small instrument that emits high speed aluminum oxide particles that mildly "sands" the tooth and eliminates the decay. In many cases, this procedure can be done with no anesthesia. INTRAORAL CAMERA ~ Our team utilizes an intraoral camera to allow our patients have a close-up view of problem teeth. The intraoral photographs are also an excellent communication tool to the patient's insurer ~ allowing the insurer to clearly understand treatment needs. In the Breckenridge office our team is able to utilize digital radiography. This allows us to exam your dental condition with up to 70% less radiation! FRESH BREATH CENTER ~ Unfresh breath is often the result of an unhealthy mouth. Our team has created a Fresh Breath Center and will gladly train patients on improved hygiene techniques and products that will dramatically improve the condition of breath. ORAL HYGIENE ~ Our team views Oral Hygiene as the core of this practice. We encourages regular professional cleanings to maintain the health of the patients' teeth and gums as well as allow for the early detection and treatment of any potential problems. Almost 75% of adults suffer some form of periodontal disease, the number one cause of tooth loss. Pregnant women must be particularly aware of their oral health. Periodontal disease has been linked to premature births and low-birthweight. Answer the following questions to determine if you are at risk of gum disease: 1.
